Between getting out of bed, showering, throwing on an outfit and getting one foot out the door - mornings can often be a busy chaos. It can often be easy to skip breakfast or grab an unhealthy option on the way to work. However, since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it’s essential that you eat something nutritious and healthy to fuel your body throughout the day.
Here are two easy and healthy (and tooth-friendly!) breakfasts to whip up on-the-go every morning.
Easy Eggs
Eggs are a great source of protein and nutrients that help strengthen your teeth and bones. Whether you prefer your eggs poached, scrambled or sunny side up; eggs will help you start your day the right way but fuelling it with the Vitamin D and Calcium that it needs. Here’s a quick omelette recipe that will only set you back 5 minutes in the morning.
Ingredients:
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tablespoon Milk
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- Choice of Toppings – We suggest: Mushrooms, Bacon and Tomato!
First heat you’re the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. While the oil is heating up, add your chopped choice of toppings and eggs to a bowl and whisk. Pour the omelette mixture into the frying pan and cook over medium heat until it’s almost completely set. Add salt and pepper to taste and cook on low heat until the omelette is set in the centre. If you have a bit more time on your hands sprinkle spring onion on top to serve.
Hearty Oats
Oats are a great breakfast option as you can prepare them the night before and easily eat them on your morning commute to work. Not to mention they’re a very healthy option full of calcium to keep your teeth strong and healthy. Here’s an overnight no-cook oats recipe for those who are very pressed for time in the morning.
Ingredients:
- Rolled Oats (Avoid instant and quick oats)
- Greek Yogurt
- Choice of Milk
- Mason Jar
- Honey
- Fruit of Choice
This recipe is so easy that it will only take you around a minute or so to put all the ingredients together. Simply add your oats, milk, and Greek yoghurt to your mason jar. Now add your choice of sweetener (we suggest honey to avoid nasty cavities caused by sugar and other artificial sweeteners). Now seal your mason jar with the lid and simply shake to combine. Open the lid and add fruit of your liking (we suggest bananas!). Simply seal the Mason jar and leave overnight, it should be soft and ready to eat the next day!
